the electric tower is infact the main focal point in this composition, and no its not another sky shot, it definitel has a character of its own, the light tower in the lower left side adds a frame of reference to the photograph and gives us a sense of distance.
oooooh, aaaaaah. i love it, its a perfect grab at the sky dragged down with a bit of earth hangning in. the comosition is lovely, i feel the bottom left hand coener balances out with the tower. beautiful work, keep it up
I'm a bit suprised how great you made "horizon garbage" look! (We call high things, like this 'electric tower' and big antennas "horizon garbage" cause it almost always ruins great views, but like I said you make it look great!).
The colors are superb. I got to love the silhouettes in this I like the fact you still photographed a tiny bit of land and not just the sky as we get to see a lot in such photos. You make it look really 'real'.
The border looks great, really makes the colors and especially the dark clouds stand out more.
A friend once told me that sky is hard to photograph since there isn't anything actually happening and that is the reason a lot of shots turn out really flat. Because the photographer hasn't managed to make the sky live and talk.
With this shot, I can't see that. But what I can see is that the massiveness of the wires and the great composition (the clourd and the ground are not paralel) really catch your attention and although there is a lot of darkness coming from the clouds the shot doesn't feel off-balance.
I dislike the streetlight though, but you can't help that. It would have been an interesting addition if the shot had been closer to the light and that would have resulted in showing an idea of how the artificial light takes the job from the real light. But this way isn't bad too, everything else compensates the small distraction. Well done
And congrats on the feature by :devalphye-ali:
I agree, it does give another sense to the shot. The sky on it's own is very impressive, looks like a huge great painting. But the tower, the lamp and the sort of lava/furnace colour of the sky give the whole thing a very industrial feel. Great shot.
lovely composition. i think the photo is seperated in three parts. the warm colors in the background, the dark and cold clouds and the "electro power" in the foreground. really nice concept and so the mixture of the warm and the cold colors combined with an unnatural power. great!
Me gustan los colores, por supuesto el ángulo de la torre es perfecto porque no ocupa mucho espacio y se puede apreciar bien el cielo en esa hora tan magnífica... muy buenos matices rojizos, la tomaste en el momento perfecto xD
